The Impact Theme series: Discussions with Older Adults.
About the Impact Theme Series
Our Longevity Explorers (hundreds of older adults with ages ranging from 60-95 years old) meet regularly to discuss topics at the intersection of aging and technology.
Among the many topics we discuss in these meetings, we have been exploring some specific themes which we think are going to be very important for older adults in the future, and which in our opinion are ripe for innovation. These make up our Impact Themes, and Uncategorized (or other) is one of these themes.
In these discussions:
- We share how we do things today;
- We explore and critique existing products;
- We talk about challenges we have that we wish products could solve; and
- We dream up product concepts we wish someone like you would develop.
If you are developing products or services for older adults in the category of Uncategorized (or other), listen to the Longevity Explorer discussions on this page to get insights about how to develop better products and services for older adults.

Designing for Older Adults: Learnings
There is a prevailing thought that products for older adults need to be designed with "different" things in mind than products for other demographics. But what should those "different" principles be? And is this idea even correct?
We are exploring these ideas in a series of explorations and articles. Our goal is to shed light on what people need to bear in mind as they think about developing products for the various types of people who collectively make up the bucket of "seniors".
Homebrew Solutions, Workarounds, & Ideas
Reports from older adults, and their friends and families, about ways they have solved challenges that were getting in the way of living life the way they wanted. These pieces of content contain real life experiences from makers, inventors, hackers of aging, and regular people dealing with growing older.
Brainstorming and Ideation
On occasion, when we come across a "problem relating to aging that we wish someone would solve", our Longevity Explorers spend some time brainstorming possible solutions. We have collected these brainstorming sessions here in one place, so that any innovators looking for good ideas to work on can leverage our thoughts and ideas to help create useful solutions for older adults like our explorers.
