Discussion Summary

The group examines pill container caps (TimerCap) that mark the elapsed time since it was last opened.

Samples of the timer caps on pill containers are passed around the group for comments:

  • Different colors are helpful - all my prescription bottles look alike.
  • No one in the group has seen these before.
  • There are no dose reminders or alerts, just elapsed time since last opened.

One member compared the TimerCaps to the alternative - a Pill Pack filled at his pharmacy and delivered via the mail to his home. Although it is convenient and the pricing is comparable to medications picked up at the drugstore, it is not a handy system for someone whose medications change frequently.
