Discussion Summary

The Saratoga Retirement Community circle brought samples of jar openers from their kitchens to share and discuss. The result was an understanding of why certain ones work (or don't) for the various members.

The SRC discussion circle brought a wide variety of devices from the mundane to the unexpected, including:

  • Levered jar wrenches
  • Standard can openers
  • Rubber gloves
  • Various strap-type jar wrenches
  • Sliding, toothed, cap-grasping tools
  • "Just hitting it on the floor"
  • An oil filter wrench from the automotive tool box

4. Grip Wrench

This item attracted perhaps the most interest from the group. The Grip Wrench demonstrated was an older model and not the same brand as the picture below. But this is an example of the sort of thing John was describing.
