Discussion Summary
Cochlear Implant and other hearing aids were described and discussed. The surgery and results of a double cochlear implant was the topic. Very expensive, sometimes covered by insurance, but very effective and improved the quality of life. They can even adjust the focus of the sound reception to a smaller, more limited, area to ease in hearing one person talk in a crowded room. The better hearing aids do not simply amplify sound, but they use both ears to find and filter sounds for specific areas of hearing loss.
