Discussion Summary

The key to remaining in your home after experiencing some of the declines of aging is the ability to hire excellent in home care. One can try to find and hire helpers oneself, or work with a professional Home Care agency that will handle all the details, but cost more. A prevailing concern in Palo Alto is the shortage of affordable housing for home care workers. The Social Worker at Avenidas can be very helpful in laying out alternatives and providing vendors from a vetted list. A consultation with a Life Care Planner was recommended as a way to understand the bigger picture and decide which option best fits your needs.
