Discussion Summary

Commonwealth Club Explorers search for ways to help older adults learn to use today's tools for communication.

Members discuss the various problems they have encountered when trying to encourage older family members to use modern communication tools and apps. Solutions emerge, sometimes in surprising ways, which underscore the point that this is not an insoluable problem, but instead one that works out best on a case by case basis.

The problem is not the inability of older adults to use technology for intergenerational communication, but instead it lies in other areas, as personal examples reveal.
