Discussion Summary

Software and Aps develop and change unrelentingly and some seniors have a hard time keeping up. One concern is that the aps some seniors have become familiar with are no longer supported or used by the people they want to keep in touch with. An example is Facebook and E-mail that are no longer used by grandkids, who have moved on to Snapchat and Instagram for which there is no conventional user manual. Grandparents experience an increasing gap from their younger relatives. It is a constant battle to keep adapting to the latest generation of tools used by youngsters.

We now need apps to take advantage of deals in the grocery store – eg Amazon Prime members get savings at Whole Foods. But completely relying on Amazon (which is easy to use) for internet shopping may not lead you to the best prices/choices. We all need a personal IT person to guide us through the thicket and help us keep up.
