Analyst Summary: Medical Alarm Concepts | iHelp Alarm
This is a small-ish, "go anywhere" alert that includes GPS for location finding. Mentions 72 hour battery life which seems longer than most systems of this type we have found. No fall detection.
Dimensions and weight of this product are a bit bigger than that of the Premium Guardian, which has similar go anywhere functionality and can do autodetection of falls.
iHelp: Dimensions: 2.7x2.0x0.7 in. Weight: 2.5oz
Pax (or Premium Guardian): 2.6x1.6x0.75 in. Weight: 1.7oz.
The company's website is geared to interacting with dealers rather than end customers. You can see it here: http://www.ihelpalarm.com
After I emailed them they said we could purchase the iHelp at http://www.1800medalert.com
This 1800etc website is not at all what we like to see. It has almost no information about who you are dealing with. It is set up to allow you to buy this product and several others. But who you are dealing with is a mystery. Even reading the fine print in the "terms" page does not lead to any names or actual company descriptions. We would not buy from this site.
The interaction with this company has set off a number of alarm bells in my mind. When I emailed the iHelp contact on that website, instead of getting a customer service email, I got a cold phone call from a young lady wanting me to buy the product from her over the phone. When I asked her to send me something by email, she sent me a brief email with the 1800etc link in it mentioned above. But her email did not contain any company information or other identifying information.
I emailed back that I felt this seemed rather fly-by-night and asked if she had any more reputable outlet.
